Create Your Own Jewish Legacy
of the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas

LIFE & LEGACY™ is a 4-year partnership program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation (HGF) that assists communities across North America, through partnerships with Jewish Federations and Foundations, to promote after-lifetime giving to benefit Jewish day schools, synagogues, social service organizations and other Jewish entities.
Through training, support and monetary incentives, LIFE & LEGACY™ motivates Jewish organizations to secure legacy gifts, steward donors and integrate legacy giving into the philanthropic culture of the Jewish community.
In November of 2017 Jewish Nevada and The Harold Grinspoon Foundation launched this outstanding program in Nevada. With 7 local organizations and agencies as participating partners, the Nevada LIFE & LEGACY™ Program will secure legacy commitments to support local organizations, and ensure a thriving future for our Jewish community.
Congregation P’nai Tikvah is a participating agency and benefactor. If you have any questions about Legacy Giving at the Jewish Community Foundation please feel free to contact Rabbi Mintz at for more information.

Call for Volunteers

JFSA is looking for volunteers in the food pantry and we would love to have your help!

We are taking every precaution with regard to the COVID-19 virus in an effort to make volunteering low risk. To assist our efforts and keep yourself safe, if you are over the age of 60, immune-compromised, are caring for someone who may have been exposed to COVID-19, or if you have a fever, are coughing or sneezing, please stay at home.

As of March 19, we have removed the need for clients to come into the main lobby and the pantry lobby. Pantry operations have shifted to a drive-thru process where we have pre-packed food bags for the clients based on family size. We are utilizing only 2 or 3 volunteers each day to pack the bags in preparation for the day’s appointments. No volunteers will be around or in contact with clients. We will be furnishing all volunteers with face masks and gloves.

Pantry hours are as follows until further notice:

Monday – 1:00pm to 4:00pm

Tuesday – 9:00am to 4:00pm

Wednesday – 9:00am to 2:00pm

Thursday – 9:00am to 4:00pm

Friday – 9:00am to 2:00pm

Please consider signing up to volunteer as the need in our community is now greater than ever. Remember that, even when the Las Vegas community gets knocked down, we are all Vegas Strong when we work together.

To volunteer, contact Sherri Freedman at 702-732-0304 ext.119 or

Other Ways YOU Can Help!

We are still going to need donations of food to ensure our food pantry remains stocked. Any canned and non-perishable goods you are able to spare are greatly appreciated.  You can drop them off at the JFSA office or we can arrange to get them from you.

Financial donations are helpful as well.  Your donation will ensure the ongoing operations of JFSA stay strong and in-tact.  There is a donate button below.

Volunteers are needed to deliver and drop off food to our seniors.  In order to secure the safety of our clients, we will need to do a quick background check on anyone interested in helping.  We know this may sound intrusive, but the safety of everyone is our main concern.  We will ask you for a copy of your driver’s license and completion of a short volunteer registration form.  We discourage volunteers from high-risk groups (like those over 60) for their own safety.

We thank you for your continued support and we wish everyone health and wellness!

Reb Jamie Hyams and Harry Sealfon!

Enjoy a beautiful morning ride and get an insider perspective on the Israel Ride. Learn about the sustainability and peace-building work that the Israel Ride supports. Hop on your bike for a ride, led by a local member of the Israel Ride community, Congregation P’nai Tikvah’s own Reb Jamie Hyams and Harry Sealfon.
This ride is a part of our Tribe Ride series in partnership with Hazon, and is open to all cyclists. Ride leaders will be there to guide you. All riders are required to wear a helmet. Bring your own water and snacks!
Join us at the beginning to learn more about the Israel Ride, the causes it supports, and the beneficiary organizations. Learn about the experience of cycling 175-350 miles from Jerusalem to Eilat! Hear from Israel Ride representatives and alumni about the Arava Institute & Hazon and how the Israel Ride is much more than just a bike ride.
