Sam Lieberman to be honored as Congregation P’nai Tikvah’s Outgoing President at Shabbat Service June 21 at 7:30pm
On June 21 at 7:30pm, Congregation P’nai Tikvah will honor outgoing President Sam Lieberman for his years of dedicated service to the congregation and to the community at large. Rabbi Yocheved Mintz and Cantor Marla Goldberg will be joined with special musical guest Steve Mintz. Services are held at Kraft-Sussman Chapel, 3975 South Durango.
According to Rabbi Yocheved Mintz, “Sam has served our congregation with the quiet dignity, calm demeanor, and good humor that we have come to love. He helped establish Congregation P’nai Tikvah as a heimishe, warm, welcoming little congregation ”the Congregation that Can.” Asking for, receiving, and thanking members for giving of their time, talents, and treasure… he has played a vital role in developing a culture of volunteerism and participation, each to his or her own ability.”
Lieberman has been involved in various community leadership positions for about 27 years, currently serving as the Government and Community Affairs Specialist for Easter Seals, Nevada; and Chair of the UNLV College of Liberal Arts Community Advisory Board. He is also serving as Director of Government and Community Affairs for PDQ Printing.
His tireless perseverance has enabled significant accomplishments in many leadership roles. He is passionate about higher education throughout Nevada and from 2000 to 2008, he served on the UNLV Alumni Board of Directors. Lieberman was honored for his leadership role working with H.E.L.P. of Southern Nevada; as an organizer of over three thousand volunteers who served the Las Vegas Marathon; and as Chairman of the Nevada Democratic Party. He is also a determined advocate for the disability community and longtime Chairman of the Board for Nevada PEP (Parents Encouraging Parents).
Long committed to Jewish camping, congregational and community affairs, Lieberman is an alumnus of Olin-Sang-Union Institute camping as well as avid advocate for the Jewish community and Israel.
Congregation P’nai Tikvah deeply appreciates his hard work and devotion to the growth and viability of the congregation and invites the entire community to this special service. For more information please contact the office at 702-436-4900 or visit pnaitikvahlv.org.
