High Holiday Services and Programs Offered to the Public
hosted by Congregation P’nai Tikvah
AREA, August 18, 2014—Congregation P’nai Tikvah is offering free High Holiday programs and services to the public as a way to welcome, engage, and connect with the Jewish community’s unaffiliated, Nellis AFB Jewish servicemen and women, college students, and Las Vegas visitors. Services will be held at The Center, 401 S. Maryland Parkway, Las Vegas, NV 89101 on Erev Rosh HaShanah Wednesday, September 24 at 7:00pm; Rosh HaShanah Thursday, September 25 at 10:00am; Kol Nidre – Yom Kippur evening Fri, October 3 at 7:00pm; and Yom Kippur Saturday, October 4th at 10:00am. Rabbi Yocheved Mintz will be joined by Cantor Marla Goldberg, along with the Congregation’s choir “Voices of Hope” under the direction of Dr. Ellen Royer with musical accompaniment by William Chenoweth for a deeply spiritual, reflective, and meaningful program. A special program on Yom Kippur afternoon will feature insightful topics.
The public is urged to support the synagogue’s High Holiday free services and educational and outreach efforts through donations with a minimum suggested donation of $72 per guest. It is through this generosity, that one of the smallest local congregations is able to make services available for all.
In addition to religious services, special educational programs are held at nominal cost to enhance the season including — High Holiday Workshop “Hi Ho It’s Off to Work We Go” on Sun., Sept. 7, 1:00 to 4:00pm; Challah Bake-a-thon on Sun., Sept. 14, 1:00 to 3:00pm; and a special program in preparation for the holidays – Havdallah & Slichot Under the Stars on Sat. Eve, Sept. 20, 7:00pm.
