This Shabbat will be an exciting one for us.  We are privileged to  have Anat Hoffman, founder of Women of the Wall, with us for Kabbalat  Shabbat/Maariv, Friday night at 7:30 p.m.  (There is no Tot Shabbat this  week).  Do not miss this opportunity to hear from a woman whose name will  go down in Israel’s history books as a brave activist working for pluralism and  equality in Israel, as promised in its Declaration of Independence.  Thank  you to Barbara Holland for sponsoring this Oneg, and to Scott Linker for  catering (in memory of his grandparents, Ben and Sadie, on the occasion of  dedicating their memorial plaques on our Yahrtzeit Board.
Shabbat morning Torah Study (Par’shat Tol’dot) will be held at the Rabbi’s  home from 10 to noon. You must RSVP before Friday this week, as we  cannot accommodate more than 20 people.  Please e-mail prior to 4 pm on Friday, so  she can prepare, set up, and provide the guard gate with names.    Anat Hoffman will be with us for Torah Study.
Sunday morning, from 9 to 1, the entire community is invited (and this is  compulsory for our Jewlicious Learning families) to the Global Day of Jewish  Learning, at the Springs Preserve.  There will be sessions for all  ages!  (Our own Rabbi Mintz will be running a session on the Shma and will  be teaching participants how to make their own ecologically friendly  mezuzot.)
Sunday evening, at 7 p.m., Anat Hoffman will be the featured speaker at the  Federation Annual Meeting, at 7 p.m..  Federation is a vital part of the  leadership of the Las Vegas Jewish Community; do plan to attend.
